Rajasthan is on track to establish itself as a prominent semiconductor and electronics manufacturing center in India. The state government, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party, has unveiled ambitious plans to elevate Rajasthan into a high-technology hub. The launch of Rajasthan’s first semiconductor cluster in Bhiwadi marks a significant milestone in the state’s industrial evolution, signaling a transition towards a technology-driven economy in line with the vision of “Viksit Rajasthan-2047.”
The Greenfield Electronics Manufacturing Cluster, situated in the Salarpur-Khushkhera region of Bhiwadi, is a collaborative effort involving 20 companies. This cluster, the first of its kind in Rajasthan and the country’s initial semiconductor facility dedicated to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), has already attracted investment proposals exceeding Rs 1,200 crore. Currently, 11 companies have commenced operations with investments totaling approximately Rs 900 crore, creating job opportunities for nearly 2,700 individuals.
The cluster accommodates various industries engaged in semiconductor packaging, electronic components, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) products, Electric Vehicle components, and air-conditioner manufacturing. With an existing annual semiconductor packaging capacity of nearly 60 million units, the facility aims to expand this capacity to between 400 million and 600 million units over the next two to three years. Plans are also in place to manufacture products utilizing advanced packaging technologies, including SSDs, DRAMs, and other data-storage solutions.
The recently introduced Rajasthan Semiconductor Policy-2026 is playing a pivotal role in positioning the state as a preferred destination for semiconductor and electronics investments. Under this policy, Rajasthan is developing semiconductor corridors in regions such as Jodhpur-Pali-Marwar and the Kankani Industrial Area. The policy offers expedited land allotment, infrastructure support, uninterrupted electricity and water supply, enhanced connectivity, and Single Window clearances to facilitate rapid industrial growth.
