The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau apprehended a patwari, Dharam Singh, in Raiwana village for accepting a bribe of Rs 4,500. Singh, holding dual charges in the Patwar Circles, was caught during a trap operation by the ACB’s Jaipur City-III unit. The complaint alleged that Singh demanded bribes for mutation-related processes, leading to his arrest.
The complainant, owning agricultural land in Raiwana village, faced demands for bribes during mutation and demarcation processes. Singh initially asked for Rs 10,000 for mutation work, later demanding Rs 10,000 for demarcation and an additional Rs 5,000 for previous work. After negotiations, Singh agreed to accept Rs 4,500 for demarcation. The ACB verified the bribe demand and conducted a successful operation to catch Singh red-handed.
Under the supervision of ACB officials, including Deputy Inspector General-II Om Prakash Meena and Additional Superintendent of Police Gyan Prakash Naval, the trap operation was executed smoothly. Singh is currently under interrogation, and legal actions are in progress. A case will be filed under the Prevention of Corruption Act, with a detailed investigation to follow.
