In a significant anti-narcotics operation, the Rajasthan Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) conducted raids across seven districts, resulting in the arrest of eight alleged drug smugglers. The operations led to the seizure of substantial amounts of poppy husk, heroin (chitta), cannabis (ganja), and the synthetic drug MD. Additionally, four vehicles, including a car and three motorcycles suspected of being used in drug trafficking, were confiscated.
Under the supervision of Director General of Police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar Sharma and Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Dinesh MN, the ANTF teams collaborated with local police units to carry out the coordinated crackdown. ANTF Inspector General of Police Vikas Kumar highlighted that this operation dealt a severe blow to drug trafficking networks in Rajasthan, emphasizing the state’s commitment to a drug-free environment.
In separate incidents, arrests were made in various districts. In Sri Ganganagar, Raj Singh, a Punjab-based heroin supplier, was apprehended with 40 grams of heroin. Meanwhile, in Pali, a car carrying 45.7 kg of poppy husk was intercepted, leading to the arrest of Subhash Siyak. In Udaipur, Prakash and Virendra Singh were caught with 8.3 kg of cannabis, hidden in a yellow plastic sack, and their motorcycles were seized.
Further, in Deeg, Rajveer Singh alias Raju was arrested with 2.015 kg of cannabis, and in Barmer, 5.5 kg of poppy husk was recovered. Ramesh Kumar was apprehended in Hanumangarh with 6.27 grams of heroin, while in Bikaner, Ashok Kumar and Surendra were arrested with 9.54 grams of the synthetic drug MD. The ANTF urged the public to report any information on narcotics trafficking to aid in their ongoing efforts to combat drug-related activities.
