The Chief Minister highlighted the courage and sacrifice of the armed forces during the 1999 conflict, reclaiming strategic peaks from Pakistani intruders.
Sharma, speaking at the ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas Shaurya Sandhya’ event, reiterated the significance of the Kargil victory as a symbol of India’s pride and valor. He recalled the fierce battles at high altitudes where Indian soldiers, despite harsh conditions, displayed extraordinary courage to reclaim occupied territory. The Chief Minister paid tribute to the martyred soldiers, including those from Rajasthan, and lauded their unwavering morale during the conflict.
Acknowledging the national security focus under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sharma highlighted the strengthening of defense policies. He emphasized the government’s efforts towards self-reliance in defense manufacturing through initiatives like Atmanirbhar Bharat. The Chief Minister also commended India’s military capabilities, citing global recognition and decisive actions against terrorism, such as surgical strikes and air operations.
