Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has instructed officials to create a forward-looking blueprint for the development of Udaipur, considering future population growth and urban needs. Emphasizing detailed planning in areas like road infrastructure and civic amenities, Sharma highlighted the importance of proactive measures to enhance urban infrastructure in Udaipur. He specifically called for a special action plan by the Udaipur Development Authority and Municipal Corporation covering development within a 25-30 km radius of the city.
Chairing a meeting with district-level officials, Sharma stressed the significance of the Dewas Project and urged its swift completion to address water scarcity issues in Udaipur’s lakes. He also directed departments to finish ongoing development projects before the monsoon season to prevent public inconvenience. Sharma further prioritized sewerage and pipeline initiatives and urged swift progress on the city’s Ring Road project to enhance infrastructure.
To ensure clean drinking water access district-wide, Sharma mandated the installation of water treatment plants where necessary. He commended the AI-based traffic control system at Fatehpura intersection and called for its expansion to other major junctions in Udaipur. Stressing cleanliness and sanitation, Sharma instructed Municipal Corporation officials to focus on improving Udaipur’s cleanliness rankings through collaborative efforts among institutions, industries, and residents.
Highlighting accountability, Sharma emphasized the responsibility of public servants to ensure transparency and efficiency in welfare projects. He urged officials to involve public representatives’ suggestions in the planning and execution of development schemes. Additionally, Sharma directed the presence of Sub-Divisional Officers and Tehsildars during the ‘Gram Rath Yatra’ campaign to engage citizens directly and enhance awareness about government departments.
