Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma recently met with Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Paatil and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in New Delhi. The discussions centered on crucial matters such as the Yamuna Water Agreement and regional connectivity projects. Detailed talks were held to expedite the implementation of the Yamuna Water Agreement, focusing on timelines and guidelines for the underground pipeline project.
Efforts are underway to ensure the timely progress of the project, as Chief Minister Sharma emphasized during the meeting. Deliberations also aimed at fostering consensus among the concerned states for the Kishau Project. The meeting highlighted the importance of mutual cooperation and coordination between states to drive forward various development initiatives.
The gathering resulted in an agreement to accelerate the Regional Rapid Transit System project, connecting Rajasthan to Delhi through Haryana. This initiative is expected to enhance regional connectivity and transportation infrastructure in Rajasthan. Waterlogging issues in Bhiwadi were also addressed during the discussions.
Officials reported that a Joint Detailed Project Report for the pipeline under the Yamuna Water Agreement has been prepared and shared with the Haryana government. Details on tapping points for water supply have been provided by Haryana, with the Detailed Project Report set for scrutiny and approval on the Central Water Commission’s online portal. Ground-level work on the project is slated to begin post-approval.
