Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma highlighted the state government’s priority of achieving complete self-reliance in the water sector. Various water and irrigation projects have been launched to ensure ample water availability across Rajasthan. Sharma directed officials to accelerate work on the Ramjal Setu Link Project and other ongoing initiatives.
At a review meeting of the Water Resources Department, the Chief Minister stressed the government’s commitment to providing uninterrupted water supply to the public and farmers. He emphasized the essential role of water in the state’s overall development. The government has made key decisions to strengthen water sources, enhance storage capacity, and improve water management systems.
Officials from the Water Resources Department updated the Chief Minister on the progress of ongoing projects, including the completion of work on the coffer dam and drainage channels of Ramgarh Barrage and Mahlpur Barrage. Projects like the aqueduct over the Chambal River are underway to divert water to various dams. Additionally, new projects under the Ramjal Setu scheme will be initiated soon to further bolster water infrastructure in the state.
The Chief Minister issued directives regarding the timely completion of water resource projects and emphasized the importance of accountability in project execution. Senior officials from the Water Resources Department and the Chief Minister’s Office attended the meeting to discuss the state’s water initiatives.
