Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma inaugurated Bharat Taxi in Jaipur, introducing the cooperative ride-hailing service in the state capital. The launch event took place at the Bhagwat Singh Mehta Auditorium at the OTS campus, with the Chief Minister as the chief guest.

Bharat Taxi promises passengers fares that are 10–15% lower than Ola and Uber, with no surge pricing even during peak hours. The company has rolled out its customer mobile app in Jaipur, offering commuters savings of about Rs 25 on rides up to 11 km compared to other app-based taxi services.

Minister of State for Cooperation Murlidhar Mohol, Rajasthan Minister of State for Cooperation (Independent Charge) Gautam Dak, and other dignitaries also attended the launch ceremony. Minister Mohol highlighted Bharat Taxi’s cooperative model, aiming to empower taxi drivers by making them owners and ensuring they receive the entire fare amount along with dividends from the company.

Chief Minister Sharma emphasized the cooperative sector’s role in creating employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for the youth. He praised Gujarat and Maharashtra for their successful implementation of the cooperative movement, stating that Rajasthan is receiving full support from the Central government to strengthen this sector.

Drivers associated with Bharat Taxi expressed how the cooperative ownership model has boosted their earnings and made them integral to the business. The company’s goal is to offer affordable transportation to passengers while providing drivers with sustainable incomes through the cooperative structure.
