Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma is set to visit the Pachpadra Refinery site in Barmer following a fire outbreak a day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s planned inauguration. The Chief Minister will assess the affected area near the Crude Distillation Unit upon arrival at 12:35 PM.

A massive fire caused panic at the Pachpadra Refinery complex in Rajasthan’s Balotra district on Monday, leading to the postponement of Prime Minister Modi’s visit. Chief Minister Sharma has initiated a high-level inquiry into the incident.

HPCL has confirmed the structural integrity of all refinery units, assuring that the fire was contained without affecting other sections of the facility. No casualties or injuries were reported due to the swift response by HPCL teams and state authorities.

The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has formed a high-level committee, including external experts, to investigate the fire’s cause and recommend necessary actions urgently. Preliminary findings suggest a hydrocarbon leak from a valve flange triggered the blaze in the Crude Distillation Unit section.
