Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas recently conducted a comprehensive review of major schemes and projects under the Energy Department and the state’s three electricity distribution companies (DISCOMs). During the meeting with senior officials, he emphasized the need for timely and effective implementation of all schemes and the acceleration of pending works. Specific focus was placed on schemes such as the Pradhan Mantri KUSUM (PM-KUSUM) Scheme, the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, and the Utility-Led Aggregation (ULA) model.

Rajasthan’s standing as one of the leading states in the country for effectively implementing the PM-KUSUM Scheme was highlighted. The Chief Secretary urged officials to ensure the completion of all projects sanctioned under the scheme within the designated timelines. Additionally, a directive was issued to promptly inspect applications and release electricity connections to eligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.

In the review of the ULA model, Srinivas stressed the importance of adhering strictly to timelines to expedite rooftop solar installations throughout the state. The meeting also addressed the state’s plan to provide daytime electricity supply to farmers by March 2027, with progress already visible in 26 districts. The focus remains on achieving the set target within the specified timeframe for all districts.

Rajasthan Government Resident Commissioner Rohit Kumar participated in the meeting via video conference from New Delhi. Energy Secretary and Chairperson of the DISCOMs Aarti Dogra, along with other senior officials from the Energy Department and the three DISCOMs, were also in attendance.
