Chief Minister Sharma highlighted Rajasthan’s agricultural diversity, showcasing its potential to become a significant player in India’s agri-business sector.
The Chief Minister praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in modernizing India’s agricultural industry, making it more technology-driven and profitable, especially for small-scale farmers. He emphasized the upcoming GRAM-2026 event’s focus on unlocking opportunities in agritech, food processing, drone technology, AI-based farming, and cold chain infrastructure. The event aims to gather investors, scientists, startups, and policymakers from both India and abroad.
Chief Minister Sharma underscored the growing interest in agricultural technology, organic farming, and logistics, as seen in previous investor meets in New Delhi and Bengaluru. Rajasthan’s agriculture sector is experiencing a transformation, offering attractive investment prospects. Highlighting the synergy between Rajasthan and Gujarat’s agricultural landscapes, he proposed collaborative efforts in food processing and supply chains to boost farmers’ incomes and market reach.
Investments exceeding Rs 3,500 crore have been made in over 1,500 food processing units across Rajasthan, with plans for 39 food parks and identified land in 34 locations. Notably, during the ‘Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit,’ agreements worth nearly Rs 44,000 crore were inked in the agriculture sector, with a significant portion already materialized. Rajasthan’s infrastructure development includes 46,000 km of roads constructed in the last two years, alongside streamlined policies to enhance the ease of doing business.
Chief Minister Sharma also highlighted advancements in energy and irrigation, such as the addition of 8,670 MW power capacity and the expansion of key irrigation projects like the Indira Gandhi Canal and Gangnahar. Government initiatives like direct benefit transfers and crop insurance schemes aim to bolster farmer support, reaffirming Rajasthan’s dedication to agricultural prosperity.
