Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma initiated the ‘Vande Ganga Water Conservation Mass Campaign – 2026’ at the Bandh Baretha Dam in Bharatpur on Ganga Dashami. Stressing the significance of water conservation, the Chief Minister urged the public to make water preservation a mass movement through active involvement.
Sharma, while addressing the audience, highlighted water as the fundamental element of life and underscored the importance of conserving water resources for the future generations. He mentioned the state government’s dedicated efforts towards achieving water self-sufficiency in Rajasthan through sustainable planning.
During his visit, the Chief Minister inspected the embankment works at Bandh Baretha Dam and assessed the progress of the project’s expansion and enhancement. He engaged in discussions with officials, emphasizing the completion of water conservation projects promptly while ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to set timelines.
CM Sharma emphasized the necessity of enhancing water availability throughout the state and emphasized the fusion of modern technology with traditional water management methods to fortify conservation systems. He outlined the government’s long-term strategies to combat water scarcity in rural and urban areas, aiming to establish lasting solutions for water challenges in Rajasthan and ensure sustainable water security.
