Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee President Govind Singh Dotasra dismissed claims by Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena, accusing him and the BJP-led state government of diverting attention from an alleged fertiliser and seed scam. Dotasra urged Minister Meena to first address corruption within his own department before accusing others. He criticized the state government on various issues, including border security and the Yamuna Water Agreement.
Responding to Meena’s allegations regarding OBC certificates and appointments, Dotasra clarified that all actions were compliant with rules set by the Union and Rajasthan governments since 1999. He explained that a 2019 circular, which Meena referenced, was corrected in 2021 and communicated to the Rajasthan Public Service Commission. Meena had written to the Chief Minister alleging fake OBC certificates held by Dotasra and his brother-in-law, a matter Dotasra claimed was resolved by courts and previous governments.
Dotasra accused Minister Meena of resurrecting a five-year-old issue to divert attention from alleged corruption in the Rajasthan Agriculture Department. He raised concerns over raids in the department, highlighting the recovery of Rs 2.43 crore in bribe money. Dotasra emphasized that if Minister Meena believes in his integrity, he should request a Special Operations Group investigation. He alleged a potential scam worth hundreds of crores and questioned why the Enforcement Directorate had not acted despite the substantial recovery.
