Rajasthan’s Director General of Police, Rajeev Kumar Sharma, held a detailed crime review meeting at the Collectorate Auditorium in Bhilwara. The meeting focused on crime control, pending investigations, law and order, and the overall efficiency of policing in the Ajmer Range. Sharma emphasized the importance of police visibility for citizen security and to deter criminals, instructing officers to enhance patrolling efforts, especially during evenings and nights.
To address road accidents, the DGP called for year-round road safety campaigns. He also urged officers to utilize legal provisions to investigate organized crime and seize unlawfully acquired assets. Sharma reviewed cases of crimes against women and matters under the Prevention of Atrocities Act, emphasizing the need for swift justice for victims. Immediate actions were mandated to rectify any identified shortcomings during the review.
The DGP stressed the significance of handling serious crimes with sensitivity, impartiality, and promptness for effective law enforcement. Senior officers briefed Sharma on policing initiatives, crime trends, and challenges in their respective districts. Discussions were held on pending cases, actions taken, and future plans, with an emphasis on accountability, timely case resolution, and field-level vigilance to build public trust.
