Rajasthan is experiencing extreme weather conditions, with Barmer registering a scorching 47.3 degrees Celsius, the highest temperature in the state this season. The Meteorological Department has issued heatwave and thunderstorm alerts for multiple districts, forecasting continued dramatic weather fluctuations over the next three days. Expectations include a possible increase in both minimum and maximum temperatures across most parts of Rajasthan in the upcoming days.
In the Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions, the Meteorological Department has cautioned about heatwave conditions and warm nights for the next 4-5 days. Similarly, the southeastern districts are likely to witness maximum temperatures ranging between 43 and 45 degrees Celsius, with potential heatwave conditions and unusually warm nights in some areas. Thunderstorms, strong winds of 40-50 kmph, and light rain are predicted in parts of the Bikaner division, Shekhawati region, Jaipur, and northern Bharatpur division within the next 48 hours.
Several districts, including Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Phalodi, Barmer, Jodhpur, and Jalore, have been under intense heatwave conditions. The soaring temperatures, particularly in Jaisalmer and Barmer, are attributed to hot winds from Pakistan entering the Thar region unhindered. While some areas like Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh experienced thunderstorms, rain, and hailstorms, Jaipur saw a temperature rise to 39.9 degrees Celsius on Monday, accompanied by bright sunshine and discomforting humidity.
