Rajasthan Government Implements Major Administrative Changes

The Rajasthan government has carried out a significant administrative reshuffle by transferring 25 IAS and nine IPS officers, leading to key modifications in various departments. Alok Gupta, a senior IAS officer, has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the Urban Development and Housing (UDH) Department. Ajitabh Sharma, previously serving as Principal Secretary, Energy, has been reassigned as the Chairman of the Revenue Board in Ajmer.

Akhil Arora, ACS to the Chief Minister, has been relieved of his responsibilities in the Water Supply Department. Aparna Arora has been shifted from the Social Justice and Empowerment Department to take charge as ACS, Mines and Petroleum. Shreya Guha, ACS in Rural Development, has been designated as the Director General of the HCM Rajasthan State Institute of Public Administration (HCM RIPA) and the Managing Director of the Rajasthan Financial Corporation.

Praveen Gupta, ACS, has been assigned additional duties in the Youth Affairs and Sports Department and the Public Works Department (PWD). However, his oversight has been removed from Tourism, Archaeology, and the Amer Development Authority. Rajesh Yadav has been appointed as the Secretary of the School Education and Language Department, replacing his previous role at HCM RIPA.

Hemant Gera, formerly Chairman of the Revenue Board, has been transferred to the Secretary position in the Water Supply Department. Neeraj K. Pawan, Secretary of Sports, has been reassigned as the Director General of the Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj Institute amid ongoing discussions on sports administration in the state. P.C. Kishan, who was on Awaiting Posting Orders (APO) since December 29, 2025, has been named Secretary of the Labour and Factories Department, with an additional responsibility as Secretary of Health Services (ECS).

Aarti Dogra has been given expanded responsibilities in the energy sector, now serving as Secretary of the Energy Department and Chairperson of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam, in addition to her current role as Chairperson of state DISCOMs. Poonam, the Divisional Commissioner of Jaipur, has been reassigned as the Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department. V. Saravan Kumar, previously Secretary of Science and Technology, has been appointed as the new Divisional Commissioner of Jaipur.
