Rajasthan has taken the lead in the country for the world’s largest grain storage scheme, with 200 warehouses approved between 2024-25 and 2025-26. Out of these, 120 are already finished, and the rest are in progress, aiming to enhance agricultural infrastructure and storage facilities post-harvest.
The state is set to construct an additional 50 warehouses in 2026-27, boosting its grain storage capacity by 1.25 lakh metric tonnes over three years. This move is a significant step towards fortifying agricultural infrastructure and storage facilities post-harvest, as confirmed by officials.
Rajasthan has excelled in implementing cooperative sector reforms, aligning with the vision of ‘Sahkar se Samriddhi’ (Prosperity through Cooperation) advocated by the Prime Minister. The state’s achievements include expanding grain storage infrastructure, digitalizing Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), and establishing Multi-Purpose PACS (M-PACS), securing a prominent position in various cooperative initiatives.
At a national event in New Delhi on July 6, 2026, Rajasthan’s accomplishments were showcased in the presence of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. The event marked the laying of foundation stones for 10 new warehouses, inauguration of 50 warehouses, and transfer of 100 warehouses to the State Warehousing Corporation.
The cooperative network in Rajasthan now comprises over 42,000 cooperative societies with a membership exceeding 1.35 crore. The recent membership campaign added 8.90 lakh new members, further strengthening the cooperative ecosystem across villages and towns. Rajasthan has also led in computerizing Primary Agricultural Credit Societies, with a significant number already converted into e-PACS.
