Rajasthan has taken the lead in India for constructing high-speed corridors and greenfield expressways, completing 1,192 kilometers of expressways to date. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, highlighted Rajasthan’s achievement as the state with the highest length of completed high-speed corridors and expressways nationwide.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed gratitude to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for the central government’s support in enhancing Rajasthan’s road infrastructure. With the completion of 1,192 kilometers within the state, Rajasthan has accounted for nearly a quarter of all high-speed corridors and greenfield expressways built in India so far, making it the top-performing state in this sector.
The expansion of the expressway network in Rajasthan has significantly improved connectivity, reducing travel time between major cities and strengthening links to industrial hubs, border regions, and neighboring states. This enhanced road infrastructure is expected to facilitate the movement of people and goods, boosting economic activities across the state.
The central government anticipates that the development of high-speed corridors and greenfield expressways will play a crucial role in driving economic growth, trade, tourism, and industrial development in Rajasthan. By enhancing logistics efficiency and regional connectivity, these infrastructure projects are poised to benefit the state’s overall development.
