Virendra Charan from Pokharan in Jaisalmer has achieved the second rank in the Rajasthan Administrative Service Examination, showcasing a unique approach by not relying on coaching institutes. Despite being the son of a Head Constable and currently serving as a Tehsildar, Virendra’s success story emphasizes self-study methods over traditional coaching methods. His strategy involved leveraging technology tools like ChatGPT for in-depth understanding and exploring answers independently.

Virendra’s accomplishment signifies a shift in the preparation methods for competitive exams, demonstrating that aspirants can excel through self-study and resourcefulness. His performance in the interview round, surpassing the topper by nine marks, highlights the effectiveness of his approach. Notably, his innovative ideas during the interview, such as promoting tourism through night tourism and wildlife tourism, showcase a blend of heritage preservation and sustainable development.

The recent exam results also indicate a notable performance by candidates from Rajasthan’s border districts, including Barmer, Balotra, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, and Anupgarh, reflecting a changing academic landscape in the state. While Jaipur and Jodhpur continue to lead in the number of selections, Virendra’s journey challenges the notion that success in civil service exams necessitates expensive coaching. His story underscores the significance of curiosity, consistency, and leveraging digital tools for effective preparation.

As Rajasthan welcomes its new cohort of officers, Virendra’s achievement underscores a shift towards independent study methods and the utilization of technology in exam preparation, signaling a potential transformation in how aspirants approach competitive exams.
