Amid the ongoing political uproar over NEET irregularities, Rajasthan’s 2021 REET paper leak issue has resurfaced. Rajasthan Minister Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to initiate a thorough investigation by Central agencies into alleged paper leaks during the previous Congress government. Meena’s letter implicates former ministers and officials, accusing them of orchestrating widespread paper leaks affecting the future of unemployed youth.
Dr. Meena’s letter alleges that under the previous Congress regime, 17 out of 18 major competitive exam question papers were systematically leaked. It claims that a former Congress minister amassed around Rs 40 crore through a paper leak syndicate, purportedly funding his son’s endeavors in Sikar. However, the letter does not disclose the minister’s identity.
The letter submitted to the Union Home Ministry includes confidential documents and evidence, implicating the Rajiv Gandhi Study Circle and its alleged links to the Congress leadership. Meena asserts that several paper leak incidents, including the REET-2021 exam, can be traced back to individuals associated with this organization.
Questioning the integrity of the REET-2021 exam process, Meena accuses the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education of awarding the question paper printing contract to an unauthorized Kolkata-based press under pressure from former officials. Despite lacking authorization, the press allegedly received the contract for a second consecutive time, bypassing regulations.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the Enforcement Directorate’s slow progress in the investigation, Meena highlights his previous meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the alleged scam. He claims that the ED’s involvement was initiated following directives from the Prime Minister’s Office. Meena calls on Amit Shah to direct Central agencies, including the ED and CBI, to promptly investigate the alleged masterminds behind the paper leak syndicate.
