Rajasthan Police uncovered an illegal drug manufacturing unit in Gauda village, seizing narcotics, chemicals, equipment, and cash valued at Rs 2.09 crore. The operation, led by Sedwa SHO Prabhuram, followed intelligence indicating drug production in a tin-shed storeroom. The raid resulted in the discovery of a fully operational clandestine laboratory.
Police confiscated 1 kg 3 grams of MD, 77.176 litres of chemicals, 26.673 kg of white powder, and Rs 24.09 lakh in cash during the operation. Anju, the wife of the main suspect, was arrested, while the prime accused, Mukesh Kumar, managed to escape. Special teams are pursuing the fugitive, with ongoing raids at suspected sites.
SP Chunaram Jat highlighted the police’s efforts to combat drug networks under the Drug-Free Barmer campaign. This marks the fourth illegal drug factory found in the Sedwa area within a year. The police are determined to continue the fight against narcotics, urging the public to report any related information confidentially.
A team comprising various officers conducted the successful operation, with further investigations proceeding under the NDPS Act.
