Rajasthan’s Director General of Police, Rajeev Kumar Sharma, has instructed police officers in the state to intensify efforts against organized crime, drug trafficking, cyber fraud, and habitual offenders. Emphasizing the importance of a robust law-and-order environment for Rajasthan’s development, Sharma highlighted the increased public trust in the police due to the implementation of new criminal laws. During a crime review meeting, Sharma directed officers to take stringent measures against criminal gangs, extortion rackets, and organized crime syndicates.
Reviewing crime trends with senior police officials, Sharma stressed the need to attach illegally acquired assets of criminals under the new laws and monitor the financial activities of gangsters closely. He also called for the demolition of properties obtained through criminal activities. Expressing concerns about drug abuse and trafficking, the DGP urged police to create district-specific plans to combat narcotics networks and to crack down on cybercriminals involved in online fraud.
Sharma emphasized the importance of training police personnel in modern investigation techniques to enhance detection and prosecution capabilities. He instructed officers to promptly report any security-related incidents and expedite investigations to ensure timely justice for victims. Additionally, Sharma highlighted the significance of road safety, directing strict enforcement of traffic rules, especially lane discipline on highways and within urban areas. Police were urged to take decisive action against traffic violators and conduct road safety awareness campaigns to reduce accidents.
In preparation for the upcoming NEET examination, Sharma reviewed security measures and instructed officers to ensure a smooth and secure conduct of the test.
