The Pratapgarh District Police in Rajasthan successfully saved 53 tribal laborers who were trapped in Solapur district, Maharashtra. Acting on information received, the police team, under the leadership of Superintendent of Police B. Aditya and Additional Superintendent of Police Gajendra Singh Jodha, rescued the laborers, including 13 women and 40 men from various villages.
The laborers were deceived with promises of jobs and taken to Solapur district two months ago. They were promised daily wages, food, and accommodation in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, but were instead forced to work in sugarcane fields. The brokers involved in the scheme took large sums of money from the laborers and abandoned them without paying wages.
The trapped laborers were subjected to physical abuse, threats, and confinement when they demanded their rightful wages. Some managed to escape and return home. The police, in line with their motto of instilling confidence in the public and fear in criminals, swiftly acted to rescue all 53 laborers with the help of their families.
Arrangements were made for the safe return of the rescued laborers to Pratapgarh, as they had no resources for travel or basic needs. The police have filed a case against the accused individuals, and legal proceedings are ongoing to address the criminal conspiracy.
