In a significant development, Rajasthan Police, with the Degana Police Station and District Special Team (DST), confiscated 979.02 grams of MDMA, a synthetic drug valued at around Rs 1 crore, leading to the arrest of one individual. The operation, part of Operation Sankalp initiated by Nagaur Police for a “Drug-Free Nagaur,” discovered the contraband hidden in a bag of chillies during a raid at Chokha ki Dhani in Khudi Kalan. Superintendent of Police Roshan Meena oversaw the operation, with Additional SP Asharam Chaudhary and Circle Officer Jayprakash Beniwal providing supervision.
Acting on specific information, a team headed by Degana SHO Harish Sankhla and DST In-charge Vijay Singh conducted the raid, resulting in the recovery of the MDMA concealed at the residence of the accused Shravanram Bishnoi (42). Despite attempts to avoid detection, the contraband was seized efficiently. A case has been filed under the NDPS Act at the Degana Police Station, leading to the arrest of Shravanram. Another suspect, Vineet Bishnoi of Merta Road, is currently on the run, with authorities working to locate him. The investigation has been entrusted to Thawla SHO Ashok Kumar Chaudhary.
The coordinated efforts of Degana Police and the DST, particularly the contributions of SHO Harish Sankhla and DST Head Constable Mahendra, were commended by the police. Emphasizing their resolve to combat drug trafficking, officials reiterated their commitment to taking stringent action against offenders under Operation Sankalp. This seizure underscores the police’s dedication to dismantling drug networks in the area, with such operations crucial for protecting young people from the dangers of synthetic drugs and ensuring public safety.
