The Rajasthan Police is set to digitize the process of preparing Medical Legal Cases (MLC) and Post-Mortem Reports (PMR) to enhance transparency and efficiency. Starting February 1, 2026, handwritten MLC and PMR reports will be prohibited across the state as per the Rajasthan High Court’s directive. Inspector General of Police (Crime) Param Jyoti highlighted that all MLC and PMR procedures will be conducted through the MedLEaPR software and the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) following a court order dated November 17, 2025.

Under the new system, strict accountability measures will be enforced if any MLC or PMR is manually prepared without using the designated software after the specified date. The Station House Officer (SHO), Investigating Officer, and Superintendent of Police (SP) will face personal responsibility, with similar obligations extending to higher-ranking officials in police commissionerates like Jaipur and Jodhpur. All requests for MLC and PMR will now be exclusively processed through CCTNS, as instructed by the Police Headquarters (PHQ).

The digitalization initiative aims to streamline processes, save time, and enhance transparency by preventing potential tampering or human intervention in legal documentation. Inspector General of State Crime Records Bureau, Ajay Pal Lamba, has urged district superintendents of police and police commissioners to promptly comply with the new directives within their respective jurisdictions.
