Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, highlighted Rajasthan’s potential to become a significant electronics manufacturing hub. He emphasized the government’s efforts to boost the sector under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. The Minister encouraged investors to establish units in Rajasthan, mentioning the approval of 75 factories under the Electronic Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) in the past year.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, present at the event, mentioned India’s progress in indigenous semiconductor production. He noted the rapid advancement of the India Semiconductor Mission with an incentive package exceeding Rs 76,000 crore. Chief Minister Sharma inaugurated Rajasthan’s first semiconductor cluster in Bhiwadi, attracting investments worth over Rs 1,200 crore from 20 companies.
Rajasthan’s advantages, including the “Triple-S Factor” of Silica, Skill, and Solar, were highlighted by Chief Minister Sharma. The state introduced policies to support the semiconductor industry, offering incentives for projects like data centers and defense manufacturing. The development of the Jodhpur-Pali-Marwar Industrial Area and the Kakani region as the “Silicon Valley of Rajasthan” is underway to create an integrated industrial ecosystem for chip design and electronics manufacturing.
