Rajasthan Regals made history in Indian professional golf by clinching a dominant 12-3 victory over UP Prometheans at the Qutab Golf Course near New Delhi. The Regals, who secured a spot in the final as the second-placed team, avenged their earlier loss to the Prometheans in the league’s fifth round. The winning team, Rajasthan Regals, received the prestigious 72 The League Trophy designed by Vibhor Sogani and a prize of INR 1 crore, while the runners-up took home a silver salver and INR 50 lakh.
Prometheans fielded their top players, Shaurya Bhattacharya and Arjun Prasad, in the singles matches, but Regals’ Jairaj Singh Sandhu and Akshay Sharma emerged victorious. With just one more win needed, Rajasthan sealed their victory with a strong performance in the foursome pairing. Aryaman Mohan and Yuvraj Singh secured the winning point for Regals. The team captain, Ajeetesh Sandhu, expressed pride in leading the team to victory and highlighted the exceptional team chemistry that contributed to their success.
In the Plate Championship, Charminar Champions claimed the third spot, receiving a prize of INR 20 lakh, while Kolkata Classics finished fourth. The tournament, organized by DP World PGTI in collaboration with Game of Life Sports (GOLS), witnessed Rajasthan Regals emerging as the champions in a memorable finale.
