In Rajasthan, Pana Devi’s journey is a tale of resilience and determination. Despite facing hardships from a young age, she has triumphed by establishing a thriving sanitary napkin production unit. Pana Devi, who lacked educational opportunities due to financial constraints, now manages a successful business and has been commended by President Droupadi Murmu.
Hailing from Aspalsar village in Churu district, Pana Devi’s early life was marked by struggles. Married at 12, she shouldered numerous responsibilities at a tender age. Initially working as a laborer under MNREGA, she later pursued education up to Class 8 at an Anganwadi center. Despite facing challenges due to a disability, she persevered and eventually embarked on her entrepreneurial journey.
With support from Rajivika, Pana Devi received financial aid that kickstarted her business venture. Through determination and hard work, she not only established a sanitary napkin manufacturing unit but also completed her graduation. Her dedication led to the expansion of her enterprise, providing employment to around 20 women in her unit.
Pana Devi’s impact extends beyond her business as she empowers women in her village to pursue education. By training and inspiring numerous women associated with Rajivika across districts, she has facilitated employment opportunities for many. Her remarkable achievements culminated in a meeting with President Droupadi Murmu, a moment she cherishes as a testament to her journey of overcoming adversities.
