Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met with Vietnamese President To Lam to reinforce India’s commitment to enhancing cooperation under the Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries. Singh expressed gratitude for the warm reception and conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s greetings, emphasizing the significance of deepening defense collaboration as a crucial aspect of the partnership.
During his visit, Singh also engaged with Vietnamese Defence Minister General Phan Van Giang to assess the progress of the India-Vietnam defense partnership and explore avenues for bolstering ties in maritime security, defense industry, training, and regional stability. Both leaders inaugurated a Language Lab at Vietnam’s Air Force Officers College and exchanged a memorandum of understanding in the field of AI and quantum technology, underscoring the advancement of their strategic partnership.
Paying homage to Ho Chi Minh on his 136th birth anniversary, Singh highlighted the enduring legacy of Vietnam’s founding father and the enduring bond of friendship between India and Vietnam based on shared values and mutual respect. The visit marks a milestone in the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations, which was elevated to an Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during President To Lam’s recent State visit to India.
