Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the deceased soldiers at the National Cemetery of Korea during his official visit to South Korea. Singh’s visit aims to bolster defense cooperation between India and South Korea and strengthen their strategic partnership. He laid a wreath at the cemetery, honoring the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for their country.
Singh expressed solidarity with South Korea, recognizing the bravery, dedication, and patriotism of the fallen soldiers. His visit is intended to deepen bilateral ties, enhance collaboration in mutual interest areas, and strengthen the relationship between the two nations. During the visit, Singh will engage in bilateral discussions with South Korea’s Minister of National Defence, Ahn Gyu-back, to review defense cooperation and explore new initiatives.
The Defence Minister’s itinerary also includes meetings with Minister of Defence Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), Lee Yong-cheol, and chairing the India-Korea business roundtable. India’s historical contributions during the Korean War, including providing medical support and leading repatriation efforts, were highlighted by the Ministry of Defence. An inauguration of the Indian War Memorial, in collaboration with Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, Kwon Oh-eul, is scheduled for May 21.
