Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to the brave soldiers of the 1999 Kargil War on Kargil Vijay Diwas. Speaking at the Kargil War Memorial in Drass, Singh highlighted the valor and determination of the Indian Army during the conflict.

Singh emphasized the significance of the Tricolour flying over the memorial, symbolizing the sacrifices made for the nation’s honor and pride. He praised the Indian soldiers for their courage in scaling the mountain heights and surpassing all human limits during the war.

The Defence Minister described the Kargil War as not just a military victory but also a testament to the bravery of the Indian Armed Forces. He acknowledged the sacrifices of over 500 soldiers who laid down their lives for the country, leaving behind families and unfulfilled dreams.

Paying homage to the fallen soldiers, Singh mentioned iconic figures like Captain Manoj Pandey and Captain Vikram Batra, whose stories of bravery continue to inspire generations. The Kargil Vijay Diwas program, a two-day event, honors the memory of those who made the supreme sacrifice during the conflict.
