The Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) has declared plans to hold protest marches on April 22 in all party district headquarters in Bihar. This move comes after the Women’s Reservation Bill faced defeat in the Lok Sabha due to insufficient votes. The RLM criticized the Mahagathbandhan parties for opposing the bill, accusing them of obstructing women’s representation in legislative bodies.
RLM, an ally of the BJP, expressed disappointment over the failure of the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament. The party highlighted that the opposition’s stance deprived women of their rightful participation in the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies. RLM’s State Spokesperson emphasized the importance of constitutional rights and delimitation reforms, which were hindered by the opposition’s resistance.
The RLM condemned the Mahagathbandhan MPs for impeding the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill, which aimed to secure 33% reservation for women in Parliament. Despite garnering 278 votes in favor, the bill fell short of the required two-thirds majority, sparking tensions between the ruling NDA and the opposition INDIA bloc.
