Former India men’s head coach Ravi Shastri praised Indian women cricketers Yastika Bhatia and Kranti Gaud for their remarkable performances at Lord’s during the ongoing one-off Test match against England. Yastika made history by scoring the first-ever Test century by a woman cricketer at Lord’s, while Kranti achieved a five-wicket haul, becoming the first woman to do so at the iconic venue.
Shastri commended the duo, expressing his admiration and highlighting the significance of their achievements by welcoming them to the prestigious honours board at Lord’s. Kranti’s exceptional bowling on Day 2 helped India secure a crucial first-innings lead by dismissing England for 170, marking her name on the Test honours board.
Kranti’s feat also placed her among the elite Indian women pacers, joining the likes of Jhulan Goswami and Gargi Banerjee. Yastika, on the other hand, created history by becoming the first woman to score a Test century at Lord’s, a milestone she reached with an emotional innings comprising 12 boundaries.
