Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) director of cricket Mo Bobat praised the players and support staff for their collective dedication, attributing the successful title defense in IPL 2026 to their commitment. He highlighted the team’s exhaustive efforts during the challenging campaign that culminated in a second consecutive championship victory.
In the final match at the Narendra Modi Stadium, RCB secured their crown by defeating the Gujarat Titans with a five-wicket win. Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 75 runs played a pivotal role as RCB chased down 156 runs in 18 overs, making them only the third franchise in IPL history to achieve back-to-back titles.
Bobat, in a video shared by RCB, emphasized that the foundation for this triumph was laid post the previous season’s victory. The management had challenged every squad member to return as better versions of themselves, setting the stage for a remarkable performance this season.
The director acknowledged the exceptional quality of the team’s camaraderie and the selfless attitude of each individual towards prioritizing the team’s success. Bobat emphasized the importance of every member giving their best, stating that the team’s unity and commitment were instrumental in their sustained achievements.
Bobat also expressed gratitude towards squad members who, despite limited playing opportunities, made significant contributions off the field. He recognized their dedication and highlighted the importance of their positive attitude in fostering a strong team culture.
With two consecutive IPL titles under their belt, RCB has solidified its position as a dominant force in the league and is now geared up to pursue their third title in the upcoming season.
