Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finishers, Jitesh Sharma and Romario Shepherd, discussed their partnership dynamics, emphasizing how their different playing styles pose challenges for bowlers in the Indian Premier League (IPL). As they prepare for their upcoming match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Jitesh pointed out the strategic advantage they hold, causing confusion in field placements due to their varied strengths. Shepherd, on the other hand, expressed the boost in confidence he feels when batting alongside Jitesh, attributing it to the positive atmosphere created by his partner.
Despite his aggressive approach, Jitesh acknowledged the difficulty in matching Shepherd’s power hitting abilities, recognizing the unique strength his teammate possesses. Shepherd, in turn, commended Jitesh for his calmness and adaptability, especially in high-pressure scenarios, which allows him to execute unconventional shots effectively. The duo played pivotal roles in RCB’s previous season success, with Jitesh scoring 261 runs in 15 matches and Shepherd contributing 151 runs in just 8 matches, including a quick fifty against CSK.
