Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are set to play against 2022 winners Gujarat Titans in an away match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. RCB, with 12 points from eight games, head into the game after recent victories over GT and Delhi Capitals.
RCB’s head coach Andy Flower discussed the team’s mindset for the upcoming match, emphasizing the players’ focus on new challenges this season. Flower highlighted the importance of maintaining balance and not getting carried away with wins or losses, approaching each game as a fresh challenge.
Flower praised RCB’s performance, particularly their effectiveness in taking powerplay wickets and the team’s strong batting depth. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to adapt to different conditions and emphasized the importance of embracing the unpredictability of the game.
Looking ahead to the business end of the tournament, Flower stressed the need for a proactive approach rather than trying to hold onto their position. He commended the team’s bowling unit for its variety and strong options in different phases of the game, including experienced swing bowlers, fast bowlers, and spinners.
Flower also touched on handling pressure situations, encouraging players to acknowledge and respond to fear positively. He lauded skipper Rajat Patidar for his leadership and the positive team environment. With momentum and a clear approach, RCB aims to secure another victory against Gujarat Titans and maintain their strong performance in the tournament.
