Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s top-order batter, Georgia Voll, stressed the importance of simplicity in handling the high expectations surrounding the team in the 2026 Women’s Premier League (WPL) final. RCB, led by Smriti Mandhana, secured a spot in the final after finishing as the table-toppers in the league stage. The franchise previously clinched the WPL title in 2024 by defeating Delhi Capitals in the final.
Voll highlighted the need for the team to stick to their successful strategies without being overwhelmed by the occasion. RCB, awaiting the winner of the Eliminator clash between DC and Gujarat Giants, is gearing up for the title clash at the BCA Stadium in Kotambi, Vadodara. She emphasized the significance of focusing on executing the basics well and not getting distracted by the grandeur of the final.
The WPL has provided overseas players like Georgia Voll a unique opportunity to interact with India’s domestic players. Voll, who has contributed 91 runs in five innings for RCB, has also taken on the role of exploring the best coffee spots in Navi Mumbai and Vadodara. She shared light-hearted moments from the RCB camp, including her playful attempts to persuade skipper Smriti Mandhana to make her a coffee.
Left-arm spinner Linsey Smith, who featured in the initial three games for RCB, echoed Voll’s sentiments about the enriching experience of training alongside India’s domestic bowlers during her maiden WPL campaign. Smith, having played in various T20 leagues globally, expressed appreciation for the training dynamics with Indian players like Radha and Shreyanka Patil, highlighting the learning opportunities and different training approaches.
