Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will face the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 without fast bowler Yash Dayal, who is set to miss the tournament for personal reasons. Speculation arose over Dayal’s absence when he was missing from training sessions and team promotions, but RCB’s director of cricket, Mo Bobat, has clarified the situation. Bobat assured that although Dayal won’t be playing, he remains under contract, and the team will support him during this challenging period.
Dayal’s personal circumstances have led to his decision to not join the squad for the IPL. Despite ongoing communication and support from the team management, it has been mutually agreed that it’s best for Dayal and the franchise that he sits out of the tournament. Dayal, who recently got married, has been embroiled in controversies, including legal issues, which have impacted his availability for the upcoming season.
RCB is gearing up to kick off their IPL 2026 campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on March 28 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
