Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah is set to inaugurate the newly constructed ‘Sabareesam’ building at the Ayyappa Temple complex in R K Puram, New Delhi on Sunday. The inauguration ceremony, starting at 5:30 p.m., will see Shah dedicating the building to devotees and the temple community.
The ‘Sabareesam’ building has been developed within the temple premises to enhance infrastructure and support the temple’s religious, cultural, and social activities. It is expected to become a key hub for spiritual gatherings, community events, charitable initiatives, and various devotional programs held throughout the year.
The Ayyappa Temple in R K Puram, established in 1980, is a prominent Lord Ayyappa shrine in North India known for its traditional Kerala-style architecture. Drawing devotees from Delhi and neighboring states, the temple plays a vital role as a spiritual and cultural center for the Malayali community and followers of Lord Ayyappa in the national capital.
The temple, renowned for hosting religious ceremonies, bhajans, special pujas, cultural events, and community service activities, serves as more than just a place of worship. With a focus on social welfare and community engagement, it undertakes various initiatives to benefit devotees.
The inauguration of the Sabareesam building is expected to enhance the temple complex’s facilities, offering additional space for religious, cultural, and social activities. The new infrastructure aims to accommodate the increasing participation in events and support the temple’s expanding community outreach efforts. This event is anticipated to attract devotees and members of the temple community, marking a significant milestone in the temple’s development.
