Real Madrid secured a 2-0 victory over Villarreal, propelling them to the top of La Liga. Kylian Mbappe netted both goals in the second half, with the first coming from a Vinicius Jr. cross and the second from a penalty in stoppage time. Despite a lackluster first half, Real Madrid outperformed Villarreal, one of Spain’s top teams.

Atletico Madrid, currently in third place, has the opportunity to extend their lead with a home match against Mallorca. Meanwhile, FC Barcelona aims to reclaim the top spot by defeating Oviedo. In other matches, Osasuna secured their first away win of the season by beating Rayo Vallecano 3-1, while Sevilla clinched a 2-1 victory over Athletic Club Bilbao with a late penalty.

Valencia also celebrated a 3-2 win over Espanyol, courtesy of Largie Ramazani’s 94th-minute penalty. Levante experienced late drama with a 3-2 win against Elche, sealing the victory with a goal in the 96th minute. The La Liga action continues with intense competition among the top teams.
