Actress Rebel Wilson reaffirms her commitment to supporting women amidst a legal dispute with ‘The Deb’ star and producer. The lawsuit, filed by lead actress Charlotte MacInnes in Australia, accuses Wilson of defamation related to allegations of inappropriate behavior by producer Amanda Ghost. Wilson testified for the first time during a nine-day trial, maintaining that MacInnes had confided in her about Ghost’s actions.
During the trial, Wilson faced accusations of bullying from MacInnes’ barrister, Sue Chrysanthou, despite Wilson’s claims of championing women. Wilson defended herself by stating her long history of supporting women throughout her 25-year career. Additionally, Wilson denied any involvement in creating defamatory websites targeting Ghost, including disassociating herself from hiring a publicist to launch such sites.
Lawyers representing MacInnes alleged that Wilson had engaged a publicist to create negative websites targeting Ghost, citing messages from a previous dispute involving Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. Wilson has consistently refuted these claims, stating that she had no part in the creation or posting of any defamatory content on the websites.
