Renowned music composer Shankar Mahadevan recently shared his thoughts on what he would do differently if the film “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara” were made today. The film, starring Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, and Farhan Akhtar, marked its 15th anniversary this year. Mahadevan, known as the global cultural ambassador for Indian music, mentioned that he wouldn’t change anything about the film itself but might compose the title song if it were made today.

“Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara,” released in 2011, was directed by Zoya Akhtar and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under Excel Entertainment. The movie follows the journey of three friends, Arjun, Kabir, and Imran, on a three-week road trip in Spain for Kabir’s bachelor party. The star-studded cast includes Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Katrina Kaif, and Kalki Koechlin.

Shankar Mahadevan, part of the Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy trio known for creating music for Indian films, was honored with a doctorate by Birmingham City University in 2023. His musical journey began with fusion music blending Carnatic, Hindustani, and Jazz styles. Mahadevan gained fame with his non-film album “Breathless,” which dominated Indian music charts in 1998. He has won a Grammy Award and received three nominations for his outstanding contributions to music.
