Republican candidate Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign announced a fundraising achievement, raising $9.88 million in the latter half of 2025. This set a new record for fundraising in an Ohio governor’s race, surpassing the $9.7 million raised in the earlier two quarters. The campaign highlighted that this performance marked the strongest fundraising period by a gubernatorial candidate in the state.
Campaign manager Jonathan Ewing expressed the significance of this fundraising success, stating that such levels of support are rare in Ohio’s gubernatorial races. The campaign emphasized that the total amount raised in 2025 exceeded $19.57 million, more than doubling the previous fundraising record set in 2017 by another candidate.
Ramaswamy’s campaign reported that since launching in February 2025, he has conducted 112 campaign events with fundraising components. The campaign underscored that the funds raised solely came from supporters, with $9.7 million from the first half of the year and $9.88 million in the latter half.
The campaign also highlighted Ramaswamy’s fundraising success compared to past Ohio gubernatorial candidates. Notably, his early fundraising surpassed the total campaign receipts of several previous candidates. Additionally, the campaign pointed out various endorsements received, including from President Donald Trump and other conservative figures.
Ramaswamy’s fundraising momentum positions him to potentially exceed the total fundraising record set in the 2018 gubernatorial race. Details of the campaign’s financial report for the second half of 2025 are set to be filed by January 31, 2026, with the Ohio secretary of state. The upcoming 2026 election will determine the successor to the current term-limited Republican Governor Mike DeWine.
