The residents of Kalakote in Rajouri district, Jammu and Kashmir, are relieved as their long-standing issue of potholed and dilapidated roads has been addressed. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has repaired the damaged roads and is currently maintaining a large stretch, easing the lives of the locals. This initiative has not only fixed the roads but also enhanced the rural infrastructure in the Balli area of Kalakote subdivision.
For years, the poorly maintained roads in the region had caused road accidents and inconveniences for commuters due to numerous potholes. The BRO’s efforts in blacktopping the roads are set to improve connectivity, especially to remote areas, ensuring smoother transportation. The ongoing construction work, covering about 3 kilometers, is progressing well under the supervision of BRO personnel, promising better road conditions in the near future.
The local residents have expressed gratitude towards the BRO and the Central government for prioritizing the development and security of the remote areas in Rajouri district. They have acknowledged the positive impact of the road repairs, emphasizing the potential for enhanced employment opportunities for the community. According to a resident, the road repair was crucial to alleviate the long-standing difficulties faced by the people, highlighting the commendable work being done by the BRO with government support.
