Retired employees of Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) have protested against delayed pensions, urging the state government to address the issue promptly. The pensioners expressed frustration over the irregular disbursement of pensions, highlighting the challenges they face in receiving timely and complete payments.
The pensioners criticized the government for dividing pension payments based on age groups, leading to financial difficulties and mental stress. They demanded a uniform and lump-sum pension for all retirees to ensure financial stability and dignity in their old age. Naresh Sharma, a representative of the retired employees’ welfare organization, condemned the current pension distribution system and emphasized the need for fair treatment of all pensioners.
The protesters also raised concerns about the denial of a 3% dearness allowance (DA) installment and the lack of reimbursement for medical expenses post-retirement. They emphasized the importance of timely pension disbursement to prevent further hardships and the need for organized protests due to the ongoing delays.
