The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court in Bhopal has sent retired district judge Giribala Singh and her son Samarth Singh to judicial remand until June 16. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) decided not to seek further remand in connection with the death of actor-model Twisha Sharma. Both accused have been directed to be kept separately from other inmates at Bhopal Central Jail.

Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh were presented before the district court after the completion of their five-day CBI custody. The court decided to send them to judicial remand as the CBI did not require any more custodial interrogation. During the hearing, Giribala Singh alleged that an advocate representing Twisha Sharma’s family had assaulted her son, Samarth Singh, inside the court premises in Jabalpur.

Responding to the claim, counsel for Twisha Sharma urged the court to verify the allegation through CCTV footage within the court premises. The court proceedings took place a day after the CBI reconstructed the crime scene at the family’s residence in Bhopal, where Twisha Sharma was found hanging on May 12.

Twisha Sharma, a former model and actor, was found dead at her marital home less than six months after her marriage to Samarth Singh. The case gained attention after the Madhya Pradesh High Court revoked the anticipatory bail granted to Giribala Singh, citing evidence presented during the investigation.
