A review meeting chaired by Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara discussed the supply system of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders in Rajasthan, along with the expansion of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connections. Senior officials and representatives of oil and gas marketing companies attended the meeting to assess the current status of LPG supply, distribution mechanisms, and PNG services.
Officials highlighted the smooth supply of domestic LPG cylinders in the state, with a steady increase in non-domestic supply to meet demand. The average delivery time for LPG cylinders is maintained at around 4.5 days, ensuring timely distribution. Minister Godara instructed officials to ensure the availability of commercial LPG cylinders for wedding ceremonies in both rural and urban areas.
To facilitate this, applicants need to submit a request to the District Supply Officer (DSO) with a copy of the wedding invitation card. The DSO will then coordinate with local gas agencies for timely supply. The Minister emphasized the need to accelerate the expansion of PNG connections, urging officials and gas companies to expedite pipeline laying and increase awareness about the benefits of PNG.
Godara also stressed the importance of completing electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC) before delivering LPG cylinders to ensure transparency and benefit distribution to eligible consumers. He directed officials not to classify newly formed municipalities as rural areas due to differences in booking and delivery timelines between rural and urban regions. Efforts are ongoing to expand PNG infrastructure across the state.
