Maximum temperatures are expected to stay notably higher than usual in eight interior districts until July 30. Additionally, light to moderate rainfall is anticipated in the Western Ghats and parts of the northern coastal region, offering some relief in isolated areas.
According to the latest weather bulletin, several districts including Vellore, Erode, Karur, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Thoothukudi, and Tirunelveli may experience temperatures 2 to 4 degrees Celsius above normal at certain locations. The India Meteorological Department has advised residents in these districts to take necessary precautions against the heat, especially during peak afternoon hours.
Meteorologists have highlighted that the elevated temperatures are likely to persist until July 30 before potentially easing, depending on the evolving weather patterns over the Bay of Bengal and surrounding regions. Meanwhile, the Regional Meteorological Centre has also forecasted light to moderate rainfall in the hilly areas of the Western Ghats until the end of July, providing relief from the heat and supporting local agricultural activities.
In contrast to the expected hot conditions in the interior districts, the weather department has predicted light to moderate rainfall in the Western Ghats until July 30. This rainfall is expected to offer relief from the prevailing heat and aid agricultural activities in the hill regions. Additionally, light to moderate rain is expected in North Coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal from Tuesday through July 30, although widespread rainfall is not foreseen.
For Chennai, partly cloudy skies are forecasted in the upcoming days, with some parts of the city likely to experience light rain, particularly in the evening or night. Daytime conditions are expected to be warm and humid, with temperatures remaining close to seasonal norms. The Meteorological Department has advised the public to stay informed about the latest weather updates, especially in districts where above-normal temperatures are expected.
