Wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is set to rejoin Delhi Capitals, while left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav will shift to Lucknow Super Giants as part of a trade agreement ahead of the 2027 Indian Premier League season. Pant, who was acquired by Lucknow Super Giants in 2025 for a record fee of Rs 27 crore, will return to Delhi Capitals for Rs 15 crore. On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav will move to Lucknow Super Giants for his existing fee of Rs 13.5 crore.
The IPL confirmed the completion of this high-profile trade, stating that Pant will return to Delhi Capitals at a revised fee of INR 15 crore, while Kuldeep Yadav will join Lucknow Super Giants at his current fee of Rs 13.50 crore. Pant had a long-standing association with Delhi Capitals, playing for them for nine seasons from 2016 to 2024, making 111 appearances and captaining the team in 43 matches over four seasons.
Kuldeep Yadav, who spent five seasons with Delhi Capitals, has been a key wicket-taking bowler in the tournament, claiming 72 wickets in 65 matches. In contrast, Rishabh Pant’s time with Lucknow Super Giants was challenging, with the team finishing at the bottom of the points table in IPL 2026. Pant, who captained LSG for two seasons, decided to step down even before the end of the 2026 season, with the franchise accepting his decision.
The trade involving Pant and Kuldeep Yadav garnered attention as both players were sought after by multiple franchises for the upcoming season. Kolkata Knight Riders were also in the running to acquire Pant for the 2027 season, alongside Delhi Capitals.
