Rising fuel prices and inflation have led to a fresh political clash in India. Opposition leaders criticize the government for causing distress to the public, while the BJP defends the situation as a global crisis affecting economies worldwide. AAP leader Anurag Dhanda condemned the government for the increasing prices of CNG, petrol, and diesel, which have prompted auto and truck drivers to consider strikes.
Targeting the BJP, Dhanda dismissed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s fuel-saving appeal as mere political theatrics. He accused BJP leaders of insensitivity towards the public’s concerns amidst the economic challenges. Congress MP Deepender Hooda also criticized the government, blaming its economic policies for the country’s difficult situation, citing inflation and a weakening rupee.
Hooda highlighted that the Indian rupee has seen a significant decline in the international market due to the government’s economic decisions. He pointed out that essential commodities like petrol, diesel, cooking gas, and fertilizers have reached record-high prices, affecting the cost of living for the common people. Uttar Pradesh Minister Anil Rajbhar defended the government, stating that the fuel price hike is part of a global economic crisis.
Rajbhar emphasized that the increase in fuel prices is a worldwide issue and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He noted that while fuel prices have surged globally, India has experienced a relatively lower and delayed increase compared to other nations.
